About Nomadic Fern
The Person Behind Nomadic Fern
Hi, I’m Haleigh — the storyteller and traveler behind Nomadic Fern. These days, I live full-time on the road in my 4Runner with my dog, Naya, chasing wild places and sharing the real side of this lifestyle.
Where It All Began
My love for the outdoors started young at my family’s little cabin in Northeast Washington. With no service, one outhouse, and the lake as our playground, I learned the beauty of simplicity and how to thrive in the wild.
After high school, that love grew into countless weekend road trips — camping under the stars along the Oregon Coast, Western Washington, and anywhere I could find a dirt road and wide-open sky.
Life on the Road Today
Now I’ve taken that passion full-time. I live and travel in my Toyota 4Runner, camping on public land, chasing new horizons, and documenting every mile along the way. My journey is about more than just beautiful destinations — it’s about honesty. The good days, the hard days, and everything in between.
Through my blog, YouTube channel, and Instagram, I share stories, tips, and inspiration for anyone curious about road life, overlanding, or simply slowing down to reconnect with the outdoors.
Why I Share
I hope to inspire others to chase their own adventures — whether that’s a weekend camping trip or a leap into full-time travel. I also want to connect with like-minded people, build community, and show that this lifestyle is possible without needing all the bells and whistles.
So if you’re curious about vanlife, overlanding, or the realities of living on the road with a pup by your side — you’re in the right place.
